This morning I was blessed to hear one of my favorite "under 40" preachers!!! Ben Smith is one of the finest young preachers with a life that matches what he says!! He just recently returned from a two week teaching session in Scotland.
This morning he preached about serving God with a perfect heart. He said that it is possible to serve God and not do it right because your attitude is wrong. ("Everyone "expects" you to do it."; "Because I have to."; "to escape hell") God wants us to serve Him, wholeheartedly, because we love Him and want to please Him. That gives us the right attitude, and therefore gives us that perfect heart even when we fail. It will also be what brings us back to repentance and rededication.
What a wonderful thing to think about!!!
I have several other young preachers that I enjoy hearing -- my son-in-law, Dustin Fierge, LJ Harry, Ken Cook, and Don Ryan!!! If you want to hear some young men that live what they believe, and preach what they live, this is a great line up!!
I'm looking forward to tonight's service. We are having our annual Singspiration. Anyone can sign up to sing -- those that can sing, as well as, those that think they can sing!! It's a great time.
