A Real Day Off??

Today is Saturday.

I'm not scheduled to work at the bank.

I did not set my alarm--on purpose.

Why???? Why was I up at 7:30??? And again at 8:15??? And finally at 9:00???
1. The dog woke us up because he needed to go out.
2. The phone rang. AND WHOEVER THE EVIL PERSON WAS DIDN'T EVEN LEAVE A MESSAGE!!!!
3. Everyone else in the house was up, so why fight the inevitable any longer.

So, now what am I going to do???

I've already fixed breakfast. (A nearly unheard of thing these days.)

AND I'm caught up on my newspaper reading for the week.

I guess I will get busy with all of the housework that needs to be done and taking care of cleaning and bandaging my mother's leg. (I'm not a nurse, I don't want to be a nurse, and I really hate taking care of open wounds!!)

Oh, yes, on the leg??? My mother took a tumble trying to get into the van that was going to transport her to the VA Medical clinic. She wouldn't let the driver help her up into the van (read: I can do it by myself, get your hands off of me!), so when she fell she took several layers of skin off of the shin of her right leg. Talking from just above the ankle to just below the knee. Now that takes talent at any age!!! (Mom seems to have a problem accepting help into and out of vans. About 10+ years ago she broke her hip trying to get out of a van without help.) At any rate--the leg looks ugly, and she's a diabetic, so we have to take lots of care with it.

I guess I better get busy. The Knox County Fair starts tomorrow and that means that next week will be a whirlwind week of going to work, coming home, going to work at the fair, coming home, showering, going to bed, and doing it all again tomorrow.

Hope you have a great week. If you happen to be in the area, the Knox County Fair, is a NICE small fair. Lots to see. And some amazingly friendly people will help you find a good parking place. **SMILE**
