Well, Mom is in a better mood. She's starting to accept the idea that she is going to be staying in the nursing center. She has a brand new flat screen TV with a VHS/DVD combo unit, so she can watch her movies, and the Olympics, and the news, and whatever she can manage to stay awake for!!!
Today is Mom's birthday, she's 88! Liz, Chris, and Zachary drove up yesterday, so that we could all take her out to dinner for her birthday. The WonderHusband's parents joined in the fun, along with Jessica and David Riley. We had a nice leisurely dinner at Ryan's, and then took Mom back. (A gift she was willing to forego!)
Since the Kentucky contingent had had the long drive this time, little Zachary was in a less than happy mood. As a matter of fact, he didn't want anyone to touch him except his momma! And then only if she was going to submit to being his pacifier!!!
Thank God a good night's sleep changed things!!! He was quite cuddly and smiley this morning! (Unfortunately for Liz, he was cuddly at 6 a.m.!) So, Nana and Gweag got some cuddling in before we had to go to work!
Now, the kids have left for Kentucky. Jessica has left for work. David Riley is contentedly playing on the computer upstairs. AND I have to start working out a schedule for going thru Mom's stuff, sorting, packing, pitching, and giving away, so that I can reclaim my house!!!
Tomorrow, I think I'm going to focus on her old office. Once that is cleaned out, packed up, and rearranged, it will become our library/entertainment room. ALL of our bookshelves that are scattered through out the house, will find a permanent home!!!! (OH, HALLELUJAH!!!) And ALL of the videos/dvd's that are scattered will have a permanent home!!! AND a certain children's table in my dining room, will move to become a study/homework table!!!! HOWEVER, before all of the above happens, I have A LOT of stuff to go thru!!!
In the near future, I will also be reclaiming my kitchen!!! (And I keep thinking of meals that I can plan on cooking again, now that I don't have to be soooo conscious of the carbs/calories/sodium!!!!)
Well, in the here and now, I guess I really need to go do the dishes and clean things up from supper. Have a lovely evening, Folks!!!
Oh, BTW, the WonderHusband is seriously thinking about starting a blog!!! I'll keep you posted on developements!!

I am happy your Mom is feeling more comfortable with her new home. Sounds like you are adjusting as well. Good for her, watching her some Olympics!
Happy cleaning out! I am still going through stuff from moving and such. I am beginning to think that the cleaning out will just be a permanent process!
