Impromptu Lunch Get-Together

Yesterday I went to Jake's for their Tuesday 1/2 Price Burger special. (Anytime I can eat out for about $3 and get GREAT food, I'm all for it!)

The hostess seated me at a table for 4, since I really didn't want to sit at the bar. I looked around and, lo and behold, there were 3 of the ladies from church sitting two tables away (one of them was the new bride of one of my former Sunday School students). I said my "howdies!" and they discovered I was eating by myself, so they invited me to join them. I warned them that I was on a time limit because I had to go back to work, but they were okay with that. So, I moved.

We talked for a couple of minutes, and I asked how long they had been seated. They told me about 15 minutes. AND then they proceeded to tell me about what horrible service they usually got there at lunch time. (I was appalled because I NEVER get bad service!) About this time, the server came to get drink orders. (It was my next-to-favorite server) I told her that I was on a time schedule and so she went ahead and took our lunch orders. In 8 minutes, she had our lunches and drinks on our table! The other ladies were astounded! I told them that my secret was making sure I got one of the two most experienced day-time servers, and being a good tipper! Works wonders everytime!!! (Okay, I, also, see most of the servers at the bank, too!)

We proceeded to enjoy our lunch and getting to know the "new bride". Sharing funny hubby stories is lots of fun and discussing the eating quirks of men in general! Our server continued to take great care of us, and then my lunch time ended and I had to rush back to the bank.

I love those impromptu meet-ups. I love getting together with God's people!

I'm so glad that you got to have such a pleasant lunch and yes, it always helps to have a good waitress/waiter and many times the service they give is dependent upon how we treat them and so on.

It's amazing the type of service you will get with a friendly face, smile, and good tip! Glad you had a nice day. Can't wait for Wonder Hubby's blog!
