Ahhh! Christmas 2010 Is In The Books!

What a relief!!!

Saturday we celebrated Christmas #2 with the hubby's family. It was a great time, although a little smaller than normal. My Mom wasn't feeling well, and my in-laws' live-in caregiver had just gotten out of the hospital, so neither of them were present. My brother-in-law's son & his family live in Florida and weren't able to make the trip this year. However, we managed to have a really great time with our $10 gift exchange. There was a set of bed pillows and a Craftsman plastic tool box that managed to swap hands pretty regularly. Once the game was finally over, I think everyone was satisfied with their gifts.

Christmas #3 was today with most of our kids & grand kids present. (Mistie was able to make it around noon, but she had worked all night and REALLY needed sleep before dealing with the NOISE that is our family!) It was soooo much fun having all four of the little ones in the house at the same time. I think K and David Riley got a little overwhelmed with all of the babies, but Nana was having herself a great time!

The one really tough spot for the day was Jessica having to take Eva to Nationwide Children's Hospital ER. Yesterday was not a good day for Eva. She took quite a few tumbles. During one of them, or several of them, she broke her left wrist. It wasn't really apparent until Jessica was trying to get her out of the car seat last night at home. She called her doctor who told her to stabilize it and check it this morning. It was swollen and so were her fingers, so after breakfast and gifts, they made the trip. Sure enough, it was broken just above the joint. So, now Eva is sporting a bright pink cast. AND she has already discovered that it is a mighty weapon! Beware the swinging pink arm!

Despite that little downturn, the rest of the day was really good! I got some good snuggling in with almost all of the little ones. (Eva wasn't being snugly!) I was able to get some good chatting in with the adults. K decided that she wanted to borrow some of my Francine Rivers books. And we talked a little bit more about her love for photography. David Riley was having a good time having another "big kid" to play with.

I hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas (or Christmases)!
