He Came All This Way

HE CAME ALL THIS WAY

          Christmas is a time when many people are traveling.  They travel to other cities to shop.  They travel to Christmas parties with friends, families, and co-workers.  They travel to family get-togethers.  Some take long trips to view special light displays or to see The Nutcracker.

          The very first Christmas involved a very long trip for a very pregnant young woman and her new husband.  It wasn’t a trip they wanted to make; it was because of a money hungry politician.  However, even the trip they made wasn’t as big of a trip as the baby made.

          He made a trip that spanned all of time.  He made a trip that would dwarf all other travel arrangements.  He left a throne in Heaven.  He left the adoration of angels.  He left all of the beauty and glory.

          He came to a world full of sin, a world that would not recognize Him.  He came to a stable.  He came to be spit on, beaten, crucified, and buried.  He came willingly. 

          He came all this way to bring us Hope and Salvation!  He came!
