Yes, Folks, once again the OSU Buckeyes have won! Even though they finished the first half down by 3 to Penn State, they came back to win the game 28-6. AND -- the defense team scored half of the points!
If you haven't figured it out, yet, I'm a bit of a Buckeye fan. It seems to run in the family!! (Even my daughter, Jessica, has been cheering for the Bucks, and she has ALWAYS said she was a Michigan fan.)
To go on to other subjects:
Riley's head is slowwwwwwly getting better. Although, it still has a tendency to bleed when he has been playing actively. (And can you imagine a 5 yr. old, that doesn't play actively??)
Today, an older customer walked up to my teller window while I had my back turned. I turned around, took a deep breath, and just about burst out crying!!! He was wearing Brut aftershave. That was my brother, Bob's usual scent. The customer asked me if I was okay, and all I could say was that he was wearing Brut. He said if that was a problem, that he could go to a different window. So, I explained as briefly as possible, and then asked if he just wanted to stand there the rest of the day and let me sniff his cologne. We both got a good chuckle, and I was able to pull myself together to take care of his transaction. This grief thing just keeps hitting me at the most inopportune times!!!!
This evening I went to a bridal shower for one of Jessica's friends, Heather. I have known Heather since shortly after she was born. I'm just not ready for these kids to keep growing up and getting married. Through the whole shower, I just kept having these memory flashes of Heather as a little kid. I remember when she was finally allowed to wear high heels for the first time! ( Oh my goodness, what a huge, HUGE thing that was for her!) She's getting married October 21st, I just cannot believe that the time has gone so quickly. I think her wedding is hitting me harder than either of my daughters'. (And, trust me, those were emotional times!!!)
Well, I'm going to sign off for now. I'm really tired, and really, really emotional. I think I'm going to go lay down and read a book that I don't have to think too hard about.
Have a great weekend! I'm on vacation next week, so I may get more blog time.
