Catching Up

Hi, Folks!!! Sorry that I've been so uncommunicative lately! Stress just makes me want to bury my head in the sand and pretend that everything will be all better later.

So, what's been happening, you ask???

1. I think Mom has finally started to settle in at the nursing center. She's been moved to a nice big, bright room (so far, with no roommate), and she's started going around reading out loud to people that can't read for whatever reason.

2. We are in the process of moving furniture and STUFF to her room to make it feel more home-like. Next project--pictures.

3. The WonderHusband and I went to a flea market and many, many yard sales ALL! BY! OURSELVES! on Labor Day!!! It's been so long since we could just loaf along without having to worry about a third party, that we almost forgot how much fun we have together!

4. We, also, took Jessica (occasionally known as The Ogre) and David Riley (aka The Boy) and met my sis-in-law, Beth at the Cleveland Zoo on Weds. We had a BLAST!!!! Even if it was 98 degrees!! And Jessica and David Riley were nearly running to see each exhibit! (I was finally reduced to going from bench to bench! My knees and the old asthma don't do fast walking in heat very well!)

**Side Note** If you are ever in the Cleveland, Ohio area--DO THE ZOO!!! And pay the extra to visit the Rain Forest!!! It is very nicely laid out, clean, and well-managed!!! Every area has picnic tables and restrooms, so it is very family-friendly! AND there are lots of hands-on exhibits for the kids!

5. I've been battling with a bit of insomnia. I can sleep great until about 2 a.m., then I'm wide awake for about an hour to an hour and a half. GRRRRR!!! I've tried all of the normal remedies (praying, reading my Bible, getting out of bed and reading until I feel dozy), but nothing seems to be helping. (I can't do too much at that time because the WH is a light sleeper, and there's no sense in both of us being awake!) It's most frustrating when I know the alarm is going to go off at 5:30 a.m.!!!

6. Jessica had her second ultra-sound. The doctor thinks it may be a girl, but nothing's definite because the baby was moving at warp speed! The tech had an awful time getting a good view of the spine and skull to make sure that all was well!!! Everything seems to be progressing normally! (THANKS for all of your prayers on Jessica's behalf!) I guess we will just find out about the middle of January! (Unless Jessica can talk Robbie into paying for a 3D ultra-sound.)

Well, have a lovely weekend! I'm going to finish making dinner (meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and corn) and then go shopping at JoAnn Fabrics.

silly Mommy, it was the doctor who couldn't get my child to stay still!!

Oh, so sorry for the mis-information! I figured the baby was moving on its own!

Funny, Ha Ha. You know my rollercoaster is self-powered... and we can't even blame it on coffee, 'cause I didn't have any that day! Doc just couldn't get Baby to stay still long enough for pictures. Gee, hope that doesn't carry on to the real world!

Hi Theresa! I'm glad to hear that you and WH had such a nice labor day. I was dealing with insomina a few months ago and my family doctor recommended melatonin, so now I take a 300mg. tablet when needed when going to bed. You might want to give it a try? I just get the inexpensive kind at Walmart! ((HUGS))

If you find a solution for the insomnia, be sure to let me know!
