Just wanted to thank everyone who was praying for us yesterday. Mom's surgery went very well. The surgeon said that she was pleasantly surprised to find that all but one of the roots (tentacles) of the skin cancer had intertwined and balled up on themselves. She didn't need to make as large an excision as she thought. She, also, did not leave the wound completely open, she put in 4 stitches in the largest part.
The surgeon said that she was pretty optimistic that she had removed all of the cancer, but it would be 10-12 days before the lab results come back.
Mom was doing pretty well when I got her back to the nursing center, but she was starting to get growly. I recommended to the nurse that they serve her lunch in her room and keep her by herself for a few hours. That seemed to do the trick, because when Sir Nottaguy-Imadad stopped to pick up her dirty laundry she was in a good mood.
