Twice In 7 Days

Today is exactly 7 days since the last snow storm that put our county into a Level 2 Snow Emergency. We are there again! We received about 7" of snow late yesterday afternoon over about 1/4" of ice. Made for some interesting driving to get home from work. It's now snowing again, and the weather service says we could get another 2"-4".

I really have nothing good to say about snow days like this other than that today I have Eva and David Riley to keep me company. (That is providing DR ever decides to get out of bed!)

Eva is battling double ear infections, so her balance is waaaaay off! (She has her Momma's & Aunt Lemon's sense of balance anyway, so that is not good.) She started off the morning by doing a face-plant in the middle of the living room floor and giving herself a beautiful fat lip. I've since confined her to the Pak-n-Play for her own safety. (She has rails to hold onto when she decides to turn around and bend over.)

If I can get the energy up to go outside with my camera, we have the most magnificent icicle/stalactite/stalagmite coming off of the back of our house. DR has been most efficient about knocking most of them down, but this one has defeated him.

The snow plow just went through our street again. His blade wasn't down. He was just travelling through. What a wonderful use of my city taxes! Of course, if he'd had the blade down, he would have just piled more crud at the end of my driveway that someone would have to try to move so I can get out eventually.

I understand that Vancouver is having a little snow shortage right now. I'd love to make a large donation to help out the Winter Olympics, but they'd have to come pick it up. Think the Olympic officials would go for that?? Could donating snow to the Olympics be considered a taxable write-off, Mrs. Lemon???

Oh, well, enough of my rambling. I'm going to go get dressed and do dishes. I'm just so excited.

Update: DR finally crawled out of bed about 10:15. After he wolfed down a plate of pancakes and bacon, he proceeded to shut himself away with Sir Nottaguy-Imadad's collection of Little Rascal videos. (The old version.) Now he's appropriated my dining room table to build with legos so Eva can't get them.

1. Tip for DR, use a big stick to knock down Ice-stelagtites.

2. A sleeping DR is a peaceful DR.

3. More bacon, less pancakes. :-)
