Grandkid Update

It's been a while since I posted anything, but it's really been a while since I posted about all of the grand kids.

Splenda (eldest child of the Lemon clan) is going to be celebrating her 1/2 birthday very soon. She will be 12 1/2! It just doesn't seem possible! She's becoming an absolutely beautiful young lady. However, the word is out, don't go clothes shopping for her unless she is along. Yep, I think the teenage thing is starting.

Miss Abby (Daniel's & Carolyn's eldest) and David Riley (Jessica's & Rob's) will both be turning 9 in July. They have been attending the Mt. V. summer park program and having a blast playing with kids between the ages of 6 and 12. They get to go swimming at the water park everyday! Abby keeps trying to decide if she's going to be a girly-girl or a tomboy. David Riley is ALL boy(!) AND he never really gets full anymore.

Jonathan (D & C's middle) just finished t-ball for the year. His team won their last game and he was SUPER excited about that! He's also been going to the park program and having a great time.

Hunter (D & C's youngest) was so excited that he had grown tall enough to touch the bottom of their pool and still keep his head out of water that he had his mom send me a video.

Zesty (Lemon's middle child) has really started to talk on the phone A LOT!!! Last night (after 10 p.m.) he was on the phone wishing his Gweag (aka Sir Nottaguy-Imadad) a happy Father's Day! He is such a ham when Mrs. Lemon gets her camera out.

Eva (Jessica's youngest) seems to think that 17 months old means she can morph into the Terrible Two's. Her mom was incredibly strong-willed, the trait passed on successfully! **groan** We had David Riley and Eva over the weekend, and I think Eva and I managed to have 3 face-offs each day. I made sure I won decisively each time, but it wore me plumb out! (Thankfully, David Riley is very easy to care for--food, books, a movie, a game and he's good to go.)

Pinky (Lemon's youngest) has decided that she needs to catch up with her big brother. At 7 months she is cruising the furniture as fast as she can go. She's decided that crawling is not the fastest mode of transportation and doesn't give Mom and Dad enough heart-racing exercise. She's, also, sprouting teeth rapidly.

Shanna (Ninja John's & Mistie's) has figured out how to roll from her back to her side and back already. She's only 6 wks. old! It's, also, really funny to be holding her and feel her start tensing her back muscles so that she can lift her head and look around.

I really, Really enjoy being the Nana to this crowd! Most of my regular bank customers get treated to "Grand kid" stories on a regular basis. I love showing off pictures of them. (Especially those fun candid ones that their parents catch with cell phones!)

Do any of you have kid or grand kid updates you'd like to share??

Grandkids are lots of fun, but the older I get, the easier I wear out. I don't wanna grow up!

My but your grandchildren are growing up, hm, Theresa! I can't believe DR is 9!!! Wow! And that D and C's oldest is 9!! How the time flies!!!
Oh, I know all about NOT buying clothes for a 12 AND A HALF year old with her being present. I now refuse to shop with any girls, 12 and up! I'm serious! :-0
Wow, Ninja baby is on the move already!!! Well, did we expect any less, her having a ninja for a daddy?! :-)
Jaylon is climbing on anything that doesn't move adn some things that do! AND his little legs have more bruises on them than I can count AND I think I saw a new one on his back and he banged his forehead on the stormdoor this afternoon, so now he has a battle scar there!
Part and parcel of being on the go at full speed ahead, hm? :-/
