FALL!
It's one of my favorite times of the year! I love the cooler nights. (I sleep so well when it's cool enough to need a quilt, but not cold enough to shiver.) I love the warm, sunshiny days. I love the slowly changing colors into a nature-kaleidoscope.
I wish I were more dedicated to gardening. I would love to have my house surrounded by mounds and mounds of mums; all colors, all sizes. No flower says Fall to me like mums!
Even though I don't have children at home anymore, I still love the start of the school year. I love hearing about the things the grandkids are learning and doing with their teachers. On Sunday, Jonathan was telling me some of his school stories. David Riley's class had puppies visit on Monday afternoon. (He's like his Nana, he's a dog person!)
Last night was DR's open house and book fair. I had to work late, but Sir Nottaguy-Imadad took him and enjoyed getting to meet his teacher (and warn her about DR's very warped sense of humor) and browse for books. Three came home with them. AND a list of about 10 more that DR would really love to have.
When we took the kiddos home last night, Rob was busy burning brush piles. Another sign of Fall in the country. As we were driving to their house, there was this amazing smell of freshly harvested corn and hay in the air. (Yes, it makes me sneeze, but that doesn't mean it doesn't smell good!)
What's your favorite Fall sight or smell?

Oh, I enjoy all of the same things about fall that you do, Theresa!
It is definitel my favorite time of the year, too!
Hmmm...My favorite smell would have to be burning leaves and Jaylon and I were walking up the driveway yesterday afternoon amidst some fallen leaves and this "autumny" smell drifted up to my nose. I think it was the deteriorating leaves...that's the only way I know to describe it.
Fall is such a marvelous time of year! Sweaters, tights, boots, snuggly blankets! I love to cozy up with a hot drink and watch the changing landscape. This post made me smile big time!
