I'm Back!

The Daniel Fast is complete and I'm back online. I'll be spending time in the next few days reading your blogs and catching up with the last 3 weeks. I will be posting pictures of my 4th project for the year and the update to #3.

I will say that I'm nearly a month ahead on reading my Bible through for the year, because I DO! love to read, and the idea of 3 weeks without reading was just not possible. I, also, discovered at least one recipe that Sir Nottaguy-Imadad says that he will gladly eat anytime.

Unlike some of the folks that attend our church, I don't believe we lost any weight during the fast. I'm just way too inventive of a cook to go hungry! I did discover that if I have to choose between no meat and veggie burgers, I'd prefer to go meatless! However, the bean curd stir-fry that my favorite Chinese restaurant makes is absolutely fabulous! They even made bean curd fried rice just for me! I had to chuckle at some of the folks at church that said they were tired of veggie pizzas and baked potatoes. I didn't serve baked potatoes once, and we love our loaded baked potatoes as a main dish! I, also, didn't serve one single salad the entire time.

Being offline was much harder for Sir Nottaguy, than it was for me. Since I work on a computer all day at the bank, I don't suffer quite as much. I did miss reading all of your blogs and keeping caught up with your lives.

One day, during this period, we went to visit The Lemons and had a wonderful time at The Newport Aquarium with them. Mrs. Lemon, forgetting that we were going meatless for a while, fixed a marvelous dinner of chicken and dumplings. We minded our manners and ate what was set in front of us, gave thanks for it, and started fresh the next morning. (I was taught good manners, we taught our family good manners, and we fully believe that our grand kids will learn them!)

And there was the Saturday that I was absolutely having a chocolate craving that was going to make me mean and nasty if it wasn't taken care of, so at lunch I went to Wendy's bought a sour cream & chive baked potato and a small chocolate Frosty. I got two spoons, and took the Frosty back to work. I handed it to my head teller, told her I just wanted one spoonful of it, and she could have the rest. She laughed at me, but agreed. It at least took the edge off the craving!

I'm very, Very, VERY thankful to have my Diet Pepsi back! Oh, how I missed it!

Have a great day! I'll be visiting soon!

Hi Mom! :)

One time when we did a Daniel Fast, I decided to fast cheese and ranch dressing - S.T.U.P.I.D. It was what made my salads and vegetables edible to me - it was the longest three weeks of my life (except for the three weeks right before Pinky was born)

The scale at work said I lost 4 pounds. It had to be the reduction of desserts.More than likey I will find it back within the week.

The media fast was the worst part for me. I can handle the dietary restrictions as long as I can exercise (aka "surfin' the net").
