Yesterday

Shanna woke up just as predicted--12 hours after falling asleep.  And she woke up singing to the bear I had tucked in bed with her.  I love the sing-songy voice that toddlers have.  She, also woke up FULL! OF! ENERGY! and curiosity.

After breakfast, I put her down to play with the toys in the living room, and I made a fast dash for the bathroom.  When I came out, she was sitting in the middle of the living room with the Apples To Apples cards all spread around her happily flinging them everywhere.  She had, also, found the big floor puzzle that Eva likes to work and dumped it out.  While I was busy cleaning those two things up, she started playing with the box of tissues.  When I stopped that, she moved onto the dining room table and started banging the salt shaker (upside down, of course) on the chairs.  Then she dumped Sparky's food bowl and was carrying it around.

As The Flat Princess and I were attempting to keep at least  a half-step behind Shanna, Jessica and Eva decided to drop over so that the cousins could play for a little while. That was a blessed relief!  Eva was trying to teach Shanna how to catch, but Shanna was more interested in throwing.  Specifically, throwing toys at Eva.  Once they started connecting with Eva's head, she was done teaching.  By that time, it was nap time for Shanna, so peace (as much as you get with a nearly 3 yr old in the house) reigned for a couple of hours.

While Jessica, Eva and I were having lunch, I introduced them to The Flat Princess, and explained that she would be visiting for a couple of weeks and was looking for adventures to have.  Jessica and I discussed a possible trip to Amish country, and I am planning on taking her to our small group Christmas Party this Saturday.  Here's the picture I took of Jessica and Eva with The Flat Princess:
Beautiful!
