My Step-Mom

I don't have very many pictures of my step-mom, Betty.  She was usually too busy to stop for a picture.  That is until the great-grandbabies started coming along.  Almost every picture I have of her she's holding one of my grandchildren.

Betty was never able to have children of her own, but she was a mom many times over.  When her father died, she stepped in and raised 4 of her brothers and sisters.  (Her mom had left many years before and her step-mother had to be institutionalized.)  When she and my dad got together, she inherited me and my two brothers.  She loved children!  She loved family!

After several years of poor health, and 5 years of missing my dad, Betty has passed on.

She will be missed!
