Here in Central Ohio, we are experiencing a WINTER! We started getting snow the day after Christmas and it's decided to stay for a while. We are having bitter cold temps for our area with wind chills that are occasionally below 0 degrees F. I think the last time Sir Nottaguy-Imadad measured, we had around 6" of snow in the front yard.
This is my second winter of being able to pretty much pick and choose as to whether I go out or not. I'm enjoying the leisure! I've gone out for church, doctor's appointments, to do grocery shopping, and to take David Riley to school, but I'm not out just running because I want to in this. I like being warm. I like not having to drive on snowy, icy roads.
I'm enjoying multiple cups of hot tea and/or cocoa each day! I'm enjoying snuggling under a blanket and reading once the housework is done for the day! I've enjoyed my break from teaching preschool for the past couple of weeks. (It starts back up on Tuesday.)
On Monday, our church starts our annual Daniel Fast. This year will be a little different where the food part is concerned, but we will still be doing a complete media fast for 21 days. We will be meeting at the church every night for prayer. Our focus this year is to be in unity with each other and with God's vision for the church. We will be attempting to only speak things that are positive and encouraging. (My sarcastic wit will need to be squelched for a few weeks.)
Today I'm going to work on doing some organizing in my sewing room. I've also got to dig out some recipes for next week. (We are only going vegetarian for one week of the Daniel Fast.)
I hope you all are enjoying the start of the New Year.

Oh the Daniel fast sounds intriguing. I'd have trouble giving up all forms of media. I could cheerfully give up the alphabets. May you and your church experience many blessings as you enter and move through this time.
