Wow!! I didn't realize it had been so long since I wrote anything on this blog! I've been writing in my head, but I guess the computer doesn't just automatically pick that up. Stupid computer!!!
So, at any rate, it's been a very long, very cold, very snowy winter here in Central Ohio! (And that statement still might qualify as an understatement!) It is officially Spring according to the calendar, but the temperature right now is 27F and the weather forecast is calling for snow tonight and tomorrow.
Since I last wrote, my baby, Jessica, turned 32 two days after her baby, Eva, turned 5. Liz's baby, Gabe, is 2 now and Zach will be 6 a week from today. David Riley is turning into what his Aunt Liz calls a baby bull! He's 5'6", which puts him a 1/2" over my hubby and eyeball-to-eyeball with me. His broad shoulders and strength are still amazing to me! Gracie is turning into the spitting image of her mother at the glorious age of 4! She's sneaky and loving and ornery and totally in love with life!
The Preschool is still going on apace. We are on Spring Break this week, but next week we will finish learning our letters and sounds. The next step is to start learning sight words and start learning to read short sentences. They are still learning to identify and write the numbers 1-20. We review these every week.
Eva will start Kindergarten in the Fall. She's definitely ready! I will still have Jemma and Shanna and possibly, Raylee, next year. I've already started doing the research for next year because there will be two very different types of learning styles. Shanna learns best with a hands-on type of learning. Counting bears are her friend (or pompoms or sticks or anything she can actually handle). Jemma learns best when she hears songs or stories and then can write or color to reinforce. Raylee is a mix of both. Shanna is great with the magnetic letters, but she gets upset if the upper case and lower case are not the exact same color!
My Mom is still hanging on. She has more bad days than good, but when she has a good day it is a REALLY GOOD day! Ross' folks have had a rough winter. Ross' Dad was just recently diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease. We are still trying to wrap our heads aroung that. Ross' Mom has been battling with some severe pain that has kept her housebound a lot.
I have been doing a lot of crocheting. I have absolutely fallen in love with the craft again! I have so many projects planned or asked for, that I will be as busy as I choose to be with it. The nice thing is, when the pain in my legs keeps me sitting, I still feel productive! I'm hoping to get my sewing room rearranged and reorganized so that I can get back to my maching and maybe finish some projects in that line. (Not to mention, I really need to make some new skirts and dresses for myself!)
I need to get off of here now and get busy. Hope you have a wonderful day!
