Recipe by request...

SNICKERDOODLES (aka Snickernoodles)

1/2 Cup softened butter (cannot be margarine)
1/2 cup Crisco shortening
1 1/2 Cups sugar
2 large eggs

Cream these ingredients together thoroughly. Sift in the following:

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsps. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg

Mix these ingredients thoroughly to make a soft dough. Prepare a plate with 4 tbls. sugar and 4 tsp. cinnamon. Drop walnut sized balls of dough into the cinnamon-sugar mixture and coat completely. Place on cookie sheets 2 in. apart. Bake at 4oo degrees for 8-10 min. Remove immediately from cookie sheet. Store in an airtight container. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.

Oh, I make snickerdoodles often enough, and I do use this recipe. I just thought someone else might benefit from it.
