Whatever happened to the customer service mandate "The customer in front of you is more important than: 1) the personal phone call that you are making on company time? 2) the paragraph that you want to finish reading? 3) the busy work that is sitting on the counter? 4) the conversation that you are having with your co-worker(s)?"
Just wondering, that's all!!

I don't know. When I worked in retail I think those rules were still in existence. :-)
But I think, by and large, our nation has lost it's work ethic. I did okay when my job was sort of public and with a good supervisor, but here at home I struggle with the same *root* issue of putting myself (my blogging, my boards) before my "customers" (my children) ... I was just thinking today that I am NOT a hard worker, and I am not really training my children to be. I mean, we talk the talk, but I don't walk the hard work walk, so guess what they're mostly learning?
:-(
Hmmmm....it seems like you put a post similar to this one some time ago. I know what you mean, Theresa. It can be preeettttyyyyy irritating! When I worked in retail, as a waitress or at the library, it was always "customer first", as it should be but I tend to agree with G-I-M, the work ethic in the good ole US of A just isn't what it used to be.
What? You mean my phone call is not important, or my book? I have to WORK to EARN money?!?
