My Thanks to Those Who Served!

I've grown up in a family that has a very, VERY strong sense of patriotism. Literally, every branch of service has had someone from my family in it.

My Uncle Kenneth served in the US Air Force from Korea through the end of Vietnam.
My Uncle Arthur served in the US Marine Corp from WWII through the Bay of Pigs, and then served as an advisor.
My father was in the USMC during WWII, and was one of 2 men from his platoon that made it off of Iwo Jima alive.
My mother served in the Navy during WWII, as a bookkeeper and storekeeper.
My brother, Bob, served in the Army during the Vietnam era, however he was assigned to The Wall in Germany.
My brother-in-law, Steve, was in the Army Engineers during the Panama conflict and in Nicaragua, he, also, spent time in Ecuador.
My Uncle Ronnie has served with the USAF, and now does work for the American Consul in the British Isles.
My "son", John, served in the US Navy and would probably still go back, but life has invaded that dream.
I have had other cousins and relatives in the US Coast Guard and every conceivable branch of service. They truly are too numerous to name!

I am so thankful for everyone who has put their life on the line to serve to protect us and other countries. Those who have taken the stand that freedom is worth fighting for, despite the politcal manuevering that goes on.

You are right... part of me does want to go back in...you are right... life has invaded and scuttled that foggy dream.
