This has to be THE best story I have heard for a long time!!! At 7:30 a.m., I received a frantic call from Jessica, while I was at work.
"MOM, THERE IS A SQUIRREL RUNNING LOSE IN DAVID RILEY'S BEDROOM!!!!! What do I do????" (And yes, trust me, the caps and bold letters are necessary for you to understand how frantic she was!) "And, Mom, David Riley thinks it's his new pet!! He's all excited about it!!!"
Now, mind you, I am at work. My husband is at work. Jessica's husband is at work.
I told her to shut the bedroom door, so that he would be confined and call her husband!!! (She had already called Robbie, but he was laughing so hysterically at her that he could not talk.)
As of 6:30 p.m. the squirrel is still in David Riley's bedroom, pending the homecoming of one husband. Oh, and by the way, it is a red squirrel--which is protected--that means it's a $1500. fine if they kill it, so Robbie's only option is to try to trap it somehow and then release it outdoors.
Second frantic phone call from Jessica came about 1:30 p.m. "Mom, I've fallen at D---'s house and I think I broke my ankle again. Can you come and get me and take me to the ER??"
Jessica is currently at home with an ace bandage on a badly sprained ankle. (At least that's what our local ER said, I'm waiting for a real doctor to look at the x-ray!)
Just wasn't Jessica's day from beginning to end. Definitely makes you wonder about the theory of going back to bed and starting over!

Wow... I want a pet squirrel! Sica, sorry about the ankle, but that is just funny. I would have chased that little critter till he ran out of the house.
but then she might have sprained her ankle earlier in the day.

Oh my... I might have had to leave the house and call Squirrel busters!
