I don't know if our family is a little strange, or just too widely scattered, but we usually wind up having two Christmases every year.
There is Christmas #1, which takes place on Christmas Day--usually our children and their children are not around to take part in this day. (That is one of the sadder parts of them getting married and having other family to see!) So, usually the WonderHusband, Mom and I go to my BIL Steve's house where we eat toooooo much, talk alot, and play a fun gift exchange game.
This means that well-loved traditions like WH reading "The Night Before Christmas" (in a psuedo-British accent) on Christmas Eve, teddy bear and initial pancakes, and chocolate gravy with fresh biscuits for breakfast Christmas morning, are slowly becoming the exception rather than the rule. We did go out looking at Christmas lights for about an hour on Christmas Eve, and saw some beautiful sights! Old brick houses look beautiful decorated with wreathes and red bows! And WH read to us yesterday morning. (It's just not the same without the kids squealing when WH "scares" them!)
Christmas #2, usually takes place the Saturday after Christmas, because the majority of the family can make it to our house that day without upsetting any other family plans. So, I'm anxiously waiting this weekend to watch K and DR open gifts, and to spend some time with a houseful of family as we eat and talk and talk and eat, oh yeah, and open a few gifts, and eat and talk some more!
Hope you all had a great Christmas Day!

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! I have to admit, I'll be glad to get back into "normal" life, whatever that is! =)
It sounds like you've had a wonderful Christmas so far, Theresa, and there's more on the way! *smile*
we aren't weird. we are adaptable. :) and we had a blast.
only 2? man, I think we had four. Definitely four. And it was a light year...and no divorces. Just great-grandparents et al that won't give it up. It's nice to be loved. :-)
