Sorry about the light blogging! It truly has been one of those weeks, and it had very little to do with the Christmas season!
It actually started last Friday with the WonderHusband's surgery! That went well, but keeping the man off of his feet for the first 48 hours was nigh onto impossible!!! I'm glad he wasn't in a horrible amount of pain, but ....
Then Saturday morning, we received a call that my brother-in-law, Steve, was in intensive care at our local hospital with an irregular heartbeat. The jury is still out on what that was all about. All of the tests, so far, have come back clear!!
Sunday morning, in the middle of Sunday School, little Jonathan was having such severe stomach pain, that one of the RN's at church suggested that Daniel and Carolyn take him to Urgent Care and have him checked for appendicitis. Thank God, it was only a secondary viral infection following the flu, that the whole family had had the week before.
Monday, the WonderHusband's foot was swollen due to his over activeness on Saturday and Sunday. (The man actually stood on the platform and sang in the Christmas Cantata on Sunday night!)
Tuesday, Hunter (2 years old) proved that childproof caps on medicine are truly just a figment of some salesman's dreams. He got into some potent medicine and wound up in ER for several hours. Thankfully, when this happened, Carolyn was just around the corner from the hospital, and a great salesperson at Lowe's helped her get the young 'uns loaded in the car quickly. All's well that ends well. I ran to the hospital and picked up Jonathan, and then picked Abby up at school. They had a great time watching movies with "GWEAG" (aka the WonderHusband) and eating apple chunks and crackers with peanut butter.
Wednesday night, as we were leaving for Bible Study, we received the call about Liz's accident. Thank the Good Lord, all's well there! However, I had a horrible time keeping myself from leaving Mount Vernon, and heading south!! I had to keep reminding myself that I had a higher calling to take care of WH, and that Chris would yell for help if he needed me.
Thursday night, Jessica called me and said that Robbie was having some intense pain in his lower abdomen. I suggested Urgent Care. He refused. Friday morning the pain was getting worse, he still wouldn't go. Friday afternoon, he decides to see his family doctor, who then sends him to ER. Jessica dropped David Riley off at our house on her way to the hospital. The CT scans are inconclusive, the blood work is clear, however Robbie is still in pain, although he's at home now. The doctor suggested having a colonscopy done next week and using the diverticulitis diet.
Needless to say, I'm feeling a little burnt out today. I had to work, and by my break time, I was feeling preeetttttyyy yucky. I called WH and told him that I wasn't cooking tonight, there were enough leftovers to cover supper & that I was coming home and taking a nap!!! 2 hour nap later, I'm feeling like I can face the world again. Man, I hate it when my stress level overloads like this!
I know that a few of my dear friends have been passing the flu back and forth like a bad game of tennis, and I'm hoping that all of you (yes, you know I'm talking to YOU!) are feeling better. I, also, hope that all of you will forgive me if I don't shake your hands tomorrow at church. I'm just not into germs of endearment!!! ;)

No kidding, I'm glad this week is over.
All our presents are wrapped, and all systems are go for the start of Christmas week!
Hopefully you get to relax this week!!
Merry Christmas!!
Oh, don't forget, the ninja's wife's car's water pump gave up the ghost, and the ninja worked hours and hours on Sunday (of all days) to get it back up and running.
When I posted this, I didn't know about NinjaMistie's car issues! Probably good, too, I was a bit of a booger Saturday evening!
Love the "germs of endearment" comment! LOL I hope all calms down for you for Christmas. You know, "all is calm, all is bright"? *smile* ((HUGS))
