I'm Becoming A Popular Person To Call

A couple of months ago Zesty (Mrs. Lemon's son) started convincing his Momma that he needed to talk to Nana (that would be me). He would bring her the cell phone and start talking before she had even dialed my number.

I received some of the cutest voice mails! "I yov you, Nani. Call me!" "I good boy, Nani. Call me." "I talk wid you."

My heart would just melt! I love that he's old enough to want to talk to me. I love that he's figured out his own name for me.

Yesterday, I had just gotten home from work, when I got a call from Jessica. Eva was screaming her head off. Jessica said she woke up from her nap crying and calling for Nana. Jessica had been trying to calm her and nothing was working so she decided to try calling me and letting me talk to Eva. Jessica held the phone to Eva's ear and I talked and talked and soothed, and after a few minutes, Eva finally quit crying and started jabbering at me. When she started waving bye-bye to the phone, Jessica hung up.

About 30 minutes later, my phone rang again, but then stopped. I checked the ID, it was Jessica. I sent off a text, only to find out that Eva had swiped the phone and pushed my speed dial. She wanted to talk to her Nana again.

David Riley has his own phone, so occasionally I get a text message from him about how much he loves me. Or that he wants to spend a night.

Once in a while, I'll get a text or call from Carolyn with a message from Abby, Jonathan, or Hunter. Jonathan, especially likes to share something new with me.

I love that my grandkids love talking to me.
