When our girls were young they were incredibly sneaky! They were grounded, paddled, de-privileged, and put in solitary in the effort to teach them that honesty is ALWAYS the best policy and that sneaking is just a non-verbal lie.
Evidently, all of our efforts did not necessarily pay off!
Last night was the culmination of the grand-pubah of sneakiness!
Mrs. Lemon and Jessica pulled off a surprise birthday party for me.
AND! I! HAD! NO! CLUE! until we pulled into the church parking lot.
Aiding and abetting the sneakiness was my husband, my friend, Jewel, and a whole host of family and friends!
I would like to publicly thank my daughters for being kind in their party planning and avoiding all over-the-hill decorations and references! Thanks to Jewel and Ed for driving over an hour each way just to celebrate with me!
I have promised not to hurt or maim anyone for the surprise. No one is in trouble for this round of sneakiness!
Love you all!

I was waiting for this post. ;) Thanks to Facebook, even those of us in cyberspace knew about it. Happy late birthday!
***Dad had NOTHING to do with the sneaking and surprising, he wishes for that to be clear. :-) When first approached, he quickly covered his ears and started chanting, "I'm not hearing this, I'm not hearing any of this!!!"
Happy late birthday!!!!
When your wife tells you that she doesn't want a party, and then your daughter tells you they are planning a surprise party, it is reason for concern. I have to live with her.
Thanks K and LC! My actual birthday was Monday, the 12th, so you weren't late at all with your greetings.
Jessica, your dad said he helped coordinate the "stories", I think that counts as sneakiness.
Dear Sir, I said I didn't want a surprise party, but the girls did a great job without making me feel embarrassed! Thanks for getting my back!
