Well, today has been a very long day, but it's been wonderful!! About 10:00p.m. last night, Daniel (one of my "adopted" kids) called to say that his wife was starting to have some serious contractions and that he would probably call later to have me come and stay with Abby and Jonathan while he took Carolyn to the hospital.
He was right, by 11:00 pm she was definitely in labor. So, I packed up and went to their house. About 7:00 am, Daniel called to say that she was still laboring. At 8:20, (just as we were getting ready to take Abby to preschool!) I got a call that was nothing but baby crying.
Hunter Daniel, weighing 8 lbs. 2 oz., 20" long, made his appearance at 8:15 am. The hardest part was that I wasn't allowed to tell anyone what they had until after the siblings had been taken to the hospital!!! (What a cruel thing to do to Nana!!!!)
On the way to preschool, Abby informed me that she would like to have a sister or a hockey player! The reasoning of a 4 yr. old, sometimes escapes me.
Congratulations, Daniel and Carolyn! Abby, he may very well turn out to be a hockey player!!
