Well, folks, sorry I haven't been blogging for a while. I have been facing some very stressful situations and I decided that I needed to spend the time doing other things.
On Tuesday I underwent a thyroidectomy. I have some beautiful colors showing up on my neck and chest. The surgeon was teasing me before surgery that he tries his hand at painting his patients, but that the only colors he ever uses are black and blue. I changed his palette! I also turned red and purple. (No, I will not be posting pictures!! I don't like my picture taken when I'm feeling well, I'm certainly not having it taken right now!!!!)
In a few weeks (depending on how well I recover) I will be facing hernia surgery. However, I'm really quite thankful for the hernias because we never would have known that anything was wrong with my thyroid if the doctor hadn't ordered xrays to determine the size and locations of the hernias.
My thyroid chemicals have always been perfect and a manual exam of my neck never showed any problems. When the radiologist was doing the xrays for the hernias he kept seeing something shadowy at the top of my chest. (There shouldn't have been anything there!) So, my doctor immediately ordered a CT Scan of my neck and chest. They discovered that the left side of my thyroid was greatly enlarged and was pressing on my esophagus and wind pipe. It had grown down into my chest cavity. By the time I had my surgery yesterday, the thyroid was starting to press on the top of my heart. The doctors don't have any clue what caused it to start enlarging or why it didn't affect my chemicals. (I'm just thankful that God allowed them to find it before it did any major damage!!!)
Well, I'm starting to hurt a little. I think I'm going to go take some medicine and lay down for a little while. Hopefully, I'll be back to blogging now on a more regular basis.

Hope you feel better soon!
I'm glad you're feeling better. I'll try not to make you laugh anymore, I'm sorry!
Becky, you will be amazed at the pretty colors I'm turning!!! But I am starting to feel better. I've gone all day on one pain pill! That's a vast improvement! And, Liz, you can make me laugh anytime you want! I'll deal with pain better with laughter involved!
Are there all the colors of the wind? lol. Glad you're feeling better
