This has seemed like one of the L O N G E S T weeks!!!!
I really thought it would go pretty quickly because it was soooo heavily scheduled, but it has absolutely not! The only day that seemed to fly was Tuesday, when I actually got to go spend some time with Liz and, of course, that day couldn't have been long enough. Work has been especially tedious!!! We are short-handed, but there have, also, been some major scheduling problems. Oh, well, I'm off tomorrow--I can make it through today!!!
Wednesday night we had a surprise speaker at church. Bro. Ken Dillingham, the pastor of LifeWay Pentecostal Church in Dayton, Ohio. He preached an amazing sermon "Bring the Sceptor, Shiloh Has Come". Now, I love to hear Bro. Dillingham preach anyway, because he's just the right mix of "Southern fire" and "Northern sense"! BUT, he really touched my heart when he started speaking about when God speaks things into existence He doesn't speak all of the details, but the details show up perfectly. He used the example of God creating light--he didn't give the dimensions of the sun and what it was to be made of and yet the sun appeared just because He spoke it into existence. Bro. Dillingham said that sometimes God speaks dreams and promises into our lives--He doesn't give all of the details, but God SAID IT, so it will happen--in His time, in His perfect plan, if we don't let go of it.
The past several months, it has seemed that some of the dreams and promises that I felt God had spoken to me were really just a figment of my imagination. I've been trying to gear myself to just move on, and let go of them. But, I think I'm going to hold on a little longer. I'm going to try to stop looking at what I see with my eyes, and feel with my emotions, and just trust.
Mom is doing a little better with her sugar levels. She finally is starting to see the pattern of how her eating affects her monitor numbers. (That hasn't stopped her from having a bread orgy at lunch a couple of days this week, but it is getting better.) Twice this week she kept her levels steady enough that she was able to have dessert with her supper!!! ; )
The majority of the snow has started to melt finally. Now we are dealing with good old squishy cold mud!!! (I'd much rather clean mud off of my shoes than snow!!) We had a couple of thunderstorms yesterday, which sent Sparky into a frantic search for some safe hiding place. (That Thunder Monster was going to gobble him up!) And from the looks of the sky right now, I'd say we are going to at least get some more rain. The Wonder Husband gave Sparky some Benedryl in anticipation. He is currently sacked out on the couch under a pillow. (The dog, not the husband.)
Well, it's almost time to go start the work day. Have a great day, Folks!
