Steve called Dad this afternoon and asked him if he wanted to wait until Steve got off work to have dinner. Dad, of course, said yes. They made plans to go to a little restaurant called the Farmstead.
The plan was for me and Ross to get to the restaurant first and get a table, while Steve ran over to pick-up Dad. Well, the Farmstead closed at 7 p.m., so that wasn't going to work. After yet another phone call to Steve, we went to a little restaurant in the great big town of Marengo, Ohio, called Enchaliditos. They serve American, Mexican, and Chinese food. (I was a little sceptical of the quality with this mix!!!) Ross and I got to the restaurant just about 5 minutes ahead of Steve and Dad, got a table, and had time to get the camera out so that Ross could take a picture of Dad's face. The plan worked beautifully!!!!
Dad didn't have a clue that we were going to be there, and even though Steve parked beside our PT, Dad never caught on until he walked in and caught Ross taking his picture!!!!
I ordered from both the Mexican and the Chinese menus, and was very pleasantly surprised!!! The food was very good and tasted fairly authentic. Well, to top the night off, the waitresses came to sing to Dad and brought him a fried ice cream dessert! Here's the pictures:
