We met at the Ohio Historical Society for a few hours of brushing up on Ohio history and just enjoying being together. The cutest thing was the interaction between Eva and Zesty. Everytime their strollers got within range of each other, they held hands. And in this picture, Eva had just been taken out of her stroller for a quick clean-up, when Zesty decided that they could share his stroller. He was more than happy to cuddle his little cousin on his lap. (I'd say this bodes well for him being a good big brother to little Sprite when she makes her appearance.)
After a nice lunch at a Big Boy, we decided to head to our house and try to put the littles down for a nap before heading to the Knox County Fair. Mrs. Lemon decided to practice holding two babies at once, but little Sprite kept getting in the way. As you can see, the love was still going on between the cousins! It was soooo cute.
After a brief nap, I took David Riley and Eva and we went to pick up Abby and Jonathan to head for the fair for the annual Nana and Kids night. I had warned Carolyn to feed the kids something nutricious before I picked them up, because I was only going to sugar them up with as much junk food as I could afford to buy. (Nana's perogative!) The kids were all full of talk about the rides they liked, what they wanted to do, and who could eat the most cotton candy without getting sick.Unfortunately, just about the time we reached the kiddie land, the first pangs of food poisoning started hitting and I was feeling really yucky, and I had 3 kids wanting to ride rides, and a baby in a stroller, and no other adults for about an hour. Now, folks, THAT IS AN UGLY TIME!!! I kept steering the kids to the rides that had benches close. (I'm not sure that they caught on.) Finally, the Lemons got there, and lo and behold, Sir Nottaguy-Imadad (AKA Gweag) and Jessica were not too far behind. Mr. Lemon and Gweag took the kids to ride big rides, while the girls, babies in strollers and I just hung out and talked and caught up with one another. About 9 p.m., we called it quits and headed home for beds.
Zesty's first night with Nana and Gweag went really well. He kept asking for Momma, but finally he put his paci in his mouth and covered his head with his blanket and went to sleep. AND slept straight through until 7:30 a.m. It was adorable that just as my alarm went off, his head popped over the edge of the crib and he asked for Momma. When I said, Nana? Then he kept repeating Nana until I picked him up. After that I heard Nana about 50 bajillion times, and LOVED IT!!!!
I fixed a quick breakfast of pancakes for everybody and then the Lemons had to head south again.
I'm already trying to figure out how soon we can arrange a trip down. I just want to spend time with the kids and grandkids. **smile**
