I was stung by a bee over a week ago on the back of the leg. I've been keeping it clean and putting Benedryl Cream on it a couple of times a day. Two days ago, it looked like it was pretty well healed.
Yesterday, the back of my leg started itching like crazy. I assumed it was just the healing process taking place. Then the spot around the sting area started getting red and hot. Today the redness and swelling and heat spread to include most of the back of my calf. AND the fire felt like it was running from my knee to my ankle. I figured it was time to call the doctor.
Diagnosis????
I'm having an allergic reaction---to the Benedryl Cream!!!! And it got infected because I kept putting the cream on. I'm now on a round of antibiotics and prednisone to clear it up.
Go figure--one more thing to add to my list of allergies--Benedryl Cream.

Interesting. You're allergic to the medicine that is supposed to stop the allergic reaction of the bee sting.
Our family is so weird.
Sounds like something that would happen to me! Hope it gets to feeling better fast!
