In my last post I grumbled about the coooolllllld temperatures, right??? Well, I'm adding to my list of grumbles.
Mistie had a doctor's appointment this morning and so did I (at the same office in Columbus). John took her there, but I was bringing her home so that John didn't have to drive all the way back to Mount Vernon before going to work.
The meet-up at the doctor's office went seamlessly. We had time to stop for lunch before heading home. No problem! We pulled into Mistie's driveway in plenty of time for her to get to work. But then....
Mistie's and John's driveway is fairly long, and it's gravel edged with grass. Normally, it's a pretty easy turn-around. Right now is not a normal time. There's about 7" of snow on top of their yard.
I got turned around just fine. I did not get straightened up before pulling back onto the driveway. As a matter of fact, my front passenger wheel seemed to want to go visit--the neighbors' fence post. I did stop before getting close to the post, HOWEVER, I was quite thoroughly STUCK!!!
It took the AAA rescue truck about an hour to find me. And then it took him about 15 minutes to get me out of the lovely rut I created trying to get out of the snow. (Sorry about the ugly rut, John & Mistie!)
Oh, I forgot to mention--I had Eva with me. She slept through most of this. Her bowels didn't. She had an ugly blow-out just before the rescue driver got me unstuck.
Now we are at home. Eva's been cleaned and dressed in fresh clothing. I would like to take a nap to recover from the stress, but she's wide awake and full of "go". AND I have a sink full of dirty dishes that are screaming at me.
It's a good thing this was a vacation day. At least I'm getting paid for all of this fun!

The new rut will blend in nicely with the others.
Of course she had a blow out in the middle of all of that! Isn't life crazy sometimes?!
Hope tomorrow is better and it doesn't snow ANYMORE!
Mrs. NB
At least Eva wasn't SCREAMING the entire time.
Oh, don't you just loooove those ugly blow-outs? How funny!!! LOL Never heard them called that before! :-)
I'm glad to hear you made it safely home and hey, sir will help with the dishes, I'm sure!
Hope you have a great rest of the weekend!
