It has been unusually quiet at our house over the past week and a half.
Jessica has been off work fighting with a bout of shingles, so we haven't seen much of David Riley or Eva. I kinda miss the noise and chaos, but I've been getting lots of mending and sewing done. I started a special project on Thursday evening and am almost to the half-way mark with it.
I'm, also, trying to figure out how to salvage a pillow for John. His lovely, feisty dog, Buster, decided to get angry and took it out on a pillow that is John's favorite. I'm just about to the point of cutting everything away from the front, and completely rebuilding.
Mrs. Lemon left a blanket for me to bind for the new baby. She had tried to do it and got frustrated because she couldn't get it to lay correctly. Frustrated pregnant women with two toddlers and a teenager are not pretty sights, so I'm handling this particular piece of frustration.
David Riley has started memorizing verses for the upcoming Bible Quizzing season. This year there are 281 verses for the division he is in, so we decided to get an early start and build in lots of breaks and fun to keep him going. The quizzing season actually runs January to June. If he is able to stick to the schedule I worked out, he will be finished memorizing in March, which means we will only have to review verses for the final 3 months.
The past week has been pretty good with my mom, too. No panic episodes. She has, however, started swatting the "bugs" that she sees on other people. This doesn't go over very well with the other residents at the nursing center. I suggested that the staff let her take her meals in her room to avoid this happening so often. They are worried about her getting enough socialization. I told them that if she feels lonely, she'll let them know.
Well, I've got a sinkful of dishes to do (as usual!) and some more mending to do. Hope you all have a lovely day.
