Sum, Sum, Summer Time

Last week Sir Nottaguy-Imadad was on vacation, so I didn't have the girls come for pre-school. (With the power outage it was a VERY good thing!)

We had originally planned to drive down to West Virginia to visit with cousins, but they, also, lost power at the same time we did.  (That storm was very wide-spread, and wicked!) Since we were going to be gone, a friend was going to come and dog/house sit for us. With the power out, she needed to come sooner than later because she needed to keep her insulin cold, and we had a generator keeping our refrigerator and freezer working.  J, also, needed to do some laundry.  The generator wasn't powerful enough to run the washer and sump pump, so she decided to do the old-fashioned tub wash thing.  Eva was here with us and was completely fascinated with the process.

To the point that she got in the tub, hiked up her skirt, and started stomping the clothes clean.  She helped rinse them, wring them, and hang them out on the clothes line.  Eva thought she was absolutely the best "clothes washer" that ever existed!

While Sir was off, we took a one day trip to Kidron, OH, to shop at Lehman's.  We always have so much fun when we go there! We took J to a flea market held on the square at Sunbury, OH on July 4th.  We didn't stay very long because J and I don't do 98F very well.  We came home from that excursion and slept for about 2 hours.

This week the temperatures have been much nicer, with a good steady breeze to keep comfortable.

How's your summer going?

Much better weather-wise than yours I'm thinking. What a cute little washing machine you've got there.
