My Name's Not Rose, But I'm Ramblin'

  • The arm is finally completely healed from the wasp sting. No more itching, burning, or swelling! Thank you, Jesus, and prednisone!
  • My friend, J, became a grandmother about 4:30 this morning. The picture she sent was adorable, but until I get permission, I won't share it here.
  • Today is David Riley's 11th birthday.  How did that happen?? I'm positive that he was just a little tyke a few weeks ago!
  • Conversation I overheard/participated in: Person 1: I feel like I'm always questioning God. Person 2: Why can't you just trust Him? Person 1: Because I don't understand what He's doing. Me: What kind of a wimpy God do you serve? Go ahead and ask Him all of your questions, He can stand up to the test! Just be prepared to listen to and accept the answers He gives you. They may not be what you are looking for.
  • Yesterday Sir Nottaguy-Imadad and I took my mom out to dinner at a local buffet. Maneuvering her wheelchair can be a little tricky at times.  As we were leaving, a young boy (about 12 or 13) jumped up from his table and ran to open the doors for my husband and held them open until I got through. I really LOVE it when parents train their children in good manners, but THAT went above and beyond!
  • I had a bit of a chat with one of the 11 yr old boys at church last night while he was waiting for someone to pick him up.  He's a bookworm, so we were discussing books he likes and asking each other about favorites.  He's into sci-fi and adventures.  We had some good times talking!
  • One of the young married men at church was determined to put his foot in his mouth yesterday as he was talking to me! The first time, I had asked him if he could help me find a Windows 98 disc so I could fix my mother's laptop. (It will only accept Windows 95 or 98!) He did and then proceeded to make sure I knew how to install it and that I understood where to put the disc.  I finally just cut him off by saying that I may be older than him, but I wasn't stupid.  Then last night, he was asking me how old the profile picture was that I use for Twitter.  He said that since I've turned grey and put on a few pounds, maybe I ought to consider changing it. (Seriously!) My wise husband just stepped in between us and guided Mr. Obtuse away before I could lay hands on him.
  • We are grand-dog sitting for Jessica and her family while they are on vacation.  Mocha has decided that my couch is preferable to her blanket for sleeping. She, also, follows Sir around just like Sparky does.  The poor man has an entourage.
  • My left hip is hurting again, so I'm going to go see the chiropractor this afternoon. In the meantime, my ice pack is my best friend.
  • I'm going to try to get some sewing done today.  No kids means that I have fewer interruptions.

So what's ramblin' through your mind today?

Very amusing all the way around...well, not the sore hip. God allowed Mr. Obtuse to put his foot firmly in mouth so that you'd know how to pray for Mrs. Obtuse.

The young man who opened the door? That young man gives me hope for the next generation.
