- The pre-school is going well. We have been working on identifying the letters of the alphabet as they say them and the numbers 1-10. The biggest accomplishment has been getting the girls to actually play together rather than just around each other.
- The storm that rolled through our area on June 29, took out all power to our little town. It was quite the impressive thing to watch as everyone pulled together to help. We finally got power back on Mon., July 2 late morning. However, Daniel's dad voluntarily drove from Pennsylvania (4 hours each way) to bring a generator that we could use so that we wouldn't lose our freezer and refrigerator supplies.
- We just discovered a few weeks ago that my mother's last sibling died a year ago in Ireland. Evidently there were some communication problems with my uncle's family. Mom is still very upset.
- While we were without power, I told my hubby that as long as I had gas for the grill and hot and cold running water, I could survive it. We have a gas water heater and we have city water, so we don't need a pump. We were able to buy 2 tanks of propane. We were set. However, many of our children didn't have water, so we became the shower house and water fill-up station. Even our youth pastor's three teenagers came to take showers, because they just couldn't stand the thought of NOT showering. It was a lot of fun!
- I've been sporadically working on sewing and crocheting. I would really like to get a quilt finished before Christmas, but it's just too hot to have a quilt laying across me!
- This week David Riley and Eva will be spending the week with us. Jessica is going to be working at the Ohio UPCI Campgrounds for the week and Rob will still be helping cleanup landscaping from the storm.
Wife, mom, and grandmother, with a little dash of caregiver thrown in for good measure.

Time To Catch Up
Sorry that I have been gone for so long! It was one of those unplanned breaks that just kind of sneaks up. So, here's what's been happening in my world:

Oh I'm sorry that you were one of those affected by that huge storm and the power outages. Sounds as if you have a very supportive family who help out in times of need.
Your mother really suffered a loss...I'm so sorry. To say that there was a lack of communication would be an understatement. What she's feeling is certainly understandable and I do pray that the God of all comfort will sustain her.
I don't blame you for not wishing to quilt just now, especially with no AC.
