Well, I finally heard from the cardiologist today about my Mom's test results. As he suspected, there is nothing wrong with her heart (other than being slightly enlarged from years of high blood pressure). He is still firmly of the opinion that Mom's problem is mild depression due to my older brother's death.
I am thrilled that there are no heart problems to deal with, however, I'm not sure what our next step is in helping her. Our family doctor is not sure that giving her a pill to help with depression is the answer. (He thinks that a sedative would only keep her sleeping, but with her other health problems she needs to be up and moving more.) He, also, feels that at her age, counseling would have a limited success. (Our pastor shares this opinion.) So, I guess we just keep on praying and wait for the Lord to intervene.
I appreciate all of the prayers and support you all have given me. Please pray that Mom would be healed from this depression, and that she would find peace.
