A few months ago, another blogger was talking about this great book that she had just read that was making her think about some tough issues. I was intrigued! If there is anything I love it's a book that makes me think!!!!
Well, I had been waiting and finally found it, but before I could buy it, Mistie did. Then she brought it to me on Sunday and said that she had trouble putting it down. I'm to the last chapter and Mistie is right--it is a hard book to put down. And the issues it brings up: designer babies, placental stem cell transplants, the right of a child to agree to medical procedures, family relationships when a seriously sick child is involved... I'll tell you, it REALLY makes you think.
So, enough of the "teasing" -- I've been reading "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult.
The book has some language and sex that I do not approve, but the over all story is a great read!
For other books that make you think:
"The Atonement Child" by Francine Rivers
"Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers
"A Rift in Time" by Michael Phillips
"You Gotta Have The Want To" by Alan Oggs
If you aren't reading anything currently, I highly recommend any of these books versus a romance novel. Of course, I would recommend the daily news versus a romance novel!
Have a great day!

I want to 'borry' that book Mom!
I would recommend a good romance novel over the daily news, but then that's just me ... :)
I second Liz's comment. I would much rather read a good romance novel.
Mistie told me about that book the other day. She said it was really good and that I would like it. I will have to check it out.
Well, okay, if you would like to read a really good kinda, sorta romancy book, may I recommend "The Pilot's Wife" by Anita Shreve. It's kinda old but it is sooooo good. I couldn't put it down! I just started reading Beverly Lewis's Annie's People series. The Preacher's Daughter is the first book and I've only just started it. I know that it will be good, though, because her books always are! :-)
