I'd really like to just sit at my computer and read blogs and post comments all day today. I'm really feeling kind of like doing NOTHING!!!
The reality, though, is my dust bunnies are having great grandchildren under my bed, the dog hair is going to morph into a new dog on the stairs, and my kitchen cabinets are starting to look like Mr. Magoo's closet!!!
I hate staying home when I'm using vacation time just because of the above!!! I always see all of the stuff that really needs done, but I don't want to "waste" vacation time catching up on housework!! (I really don't like using vacation time to nurse people either, but my company policy is such that I can't use any of my 18 weeks of sick time for anyone but me!!)
Okay, now I've whined so I will go do something to salve my housekeeping conscience.
On the fun side--I have re-read all of the "Shiloh Legacy" series (Brock and Bodie Thoene) and have started piecing together how they fit into their "Zion Covenant" and "Zion Chronicles" series. Such good reading!!!

You have 18 weeks? I would be sticking something down my throat to throw up to say I can't come in.
But your work ethics must not have passed down to me. or something.
If I were you, I'd apply for FMLA. You could then use your sick time to take care of your mom. Just a thought.
