A Fond Farewell

Today I went to Sandy's mother's funeral.

I was sad for Sandy and her family, because I know that they will miss Mary very much. BUT I was almost jealous for Mary because she's getting to be somewhere that I have only heard and read about. During the eulogy, I got to thinking about some of the descriptions the Bible gives about Heaven, and I just wanted to go there.

Think about it--no more pain, no more sickness, no more tears, no more parting, no darkness, no evil, no distractions, no needs. Gold for streets! Pearls for gates! Jewels for foundation stones! Seeing Jesus face-to-face!!!

I have a friend who died about 2 years ago, and then was resuscitated. He has told me some of the most amazing things about his few minutes in the Presence of God!

Then I got to thinking about my brother's death last July. I miss him terribly, but would I wish him back here--NO WAY!!!

Mary, Bob, and many others--I'll see you again someday!

What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see...When I look upon His face...I can't wait either to see Him but while we are here I am sooo thankful for the blessings He gives. Namely your wonderful daughter Liz and her awesomely wonderful family. :)
