Well, this was not the normal quiet weekend that I like to have when I'm scheduled to work on Saturday!!
Friday night, we were scheduled to have a date with our friends the D's, but Mr. D (who is a police officer) was called in to work. So, date has been rescheduled. ( I'm soooo looking forward to seafood and lots of fun!)
Saturday, after I got off of work, the WonderHusband and I made a fast run to Large Women's clothing store in Columbus. They were having a 40%-off-of-everything-in-the-store sale!!! I found two nice blouses and a few undergarments, and saved a little over $50! (So, glad The Lizness works for this chain, and is able to give me a heads-up on these specials!) The reason it had to be a fast run is because the WonderHusband's 25 year Class Reunion was Saturday evening.
I LOVE going to his class reunion!! I'm serious, Folks! So, many of his former classmates I see at work (either because I work with them or because they are my customers) on a semi-regular basis. Sometimes we see them at the grocery or other shopping places. So, his classmates are not strangers to me!
I have NEVER been to one of my class reunions (this year would have been the 30th)! I graduated 2 years early from an inner-city school where I was bussed to help with desegregation. (I was the only caucasian in my senior class of 380+ students!) I didn't know most of my classmates very well, and really had little to nothing in common with them. I have no fond memories of high school! So, I live vicariously thru the WonderHusband's reunions! **BIG GRIN**
Sunday, my "son", John, and two van loads of teenagers returned from North Carolina, where they had attended the North American Youth Congress. To say that John was tired would be a grave understatement! He truly was starting to look like the walking dead by the time he left my house last night! Oh, why was he at my house, you ask??? Because of NAYC, we had not been able to properly celebrate his birthday. AND since this is the first year since he was about 14, that he declared that he WANTED to celebrate, we couldn't pass up the opportunity! We didn't have a big party, just me, WonderHusband, Granny, John, Misty, Jessica, Chasity (John's sister) and her three children, but it was enough!!! John's party was the only event that was captured on the camera this weekend, so here's the view:
