Back to work...

Well, today was the official end of the vacation. I had to be at work at 7:30 a.m. Actually, the day wasn't so bad. Not too busy, not too slow. However, the tellers that worked my window (I'm the Commercial Teller) forgot to remind all of the business customers that we would be closing today at noon instead of 3 p.m. By 11:15, several of my regular businesses had still not been in for their weekend change orders or to make deposits, so I did a little extra customer service and started calling to make sure they would be in before we closed. Got lots of "OMG!" "Be right there!" Therefore, I had a bit of a rush the last 30 minutes.

After we closed and the lights were out, but before all of the staff had left the building, we had at least 15 people banging on the doors wanting to do transactions. There were varying degrees of irritation being shown as we told them we were closed and would re-open on Tuesday morning. One elderly lady even resorted to banging on the front door with her cane.

Our customers are such creatures of habit, that even at 1:30, when the Wonder Husband and I drove past, there were cars driving into the drive-thru lanes, stopping and then pulling on thru.

Well, I hope everyone has a safe and Wonderful! New Year's weekend. I'll "talk" to you soon.

People can be so funny (weird), hm? When I worked on Sundays at the library, people would be standing at the front door and hanging around the stops as early as 12:15pm, even though they knew that we didn't open until 1 o'clock. I never did figure that one out!! *smile*
