Well, today started with a bang!! The alarm went off at 6:30, so the Wonder Husband could get a shower before my alarm went off at 7 to remind me to feed Daniel's and Carolyn's dog, Cocoa. (D & C are in New York with the kids, visiting her mom and dad and they took the well-behaved, Oreo, with them.)
By the time we got out the door, Ross and I had decided to do a quick breakfast at Friendly's before he went over to get his "collar lowered" (hair cut). We took care of Cocoa (who decided not to jump his muddy self on me today, unlike yesterday when I was dressed for work!), ate, went to the bank (in and out in 1 minute!) and got the haircut and we still beat Jessica to our house! Jessica and Ross are driving down to Liz's today to pick up the piano that is going to take up residence at Jessica's house. Liz is following them back, so in just a few hours I will have both girls here!!!! (I'm a very EXCITED MOM!!!)
I have David Riley, and oh what a help he has been! He loves vacuuming, so I set him loose on the second floor with the vacuum!!! I love 5 year olds! They are so into doing things. Sometimes I wish I had their energy, but reality says that if I did, I'd probably hurt myself trying to do things that my body is no longer capable of doing**Big Grin**! After a while, he's going to help me make Cheesy Potato Soup and some Snickerdoodle cookies, so that the travellers will have nourishing food to eat when they get home.
Our weekend is looking a little hectic, but it is all family so I think we can do this.
Today: Liz arrives!! (YEAH!)
Sunday: 10 a.m.--Sunday School
12:30 p.m.--The Patrick family descends on my house (from points all over the state) for our family Christmas.
6 p.m.--Candle Light Service at our church
9 p.m.--The Wonder Husband's reading of Luke and then "Twas the Night Before Christmas"
Monday: ? a.m.--Christmas breakfast (teddy bear pancakes, etc.; opening stockings and then presents.
1 p.m.--The Hines family descends on my brother-in-law's house for their family Christmas.
?p.m.--Liz has to leave to go back to Kentucky (weeping, and wailing!)
Somewhere in all of this, I have to put together a meat and cheese tray for our Christmas and make a Texas Sheet cake for my brother-in-law's house. (Not to mention feeding everbody in between times and I still haven't had time to wrap the Wonder Husband's gift!)
Hopefully, your Christmas celebrations are not going to be quite as crazy, but if they are--just smile and nod. I do a lot of this!!!! Have a great time enjoying family and friends and remember the Reason we celebrate!
