Quick update on Jessica. She is feeling much better. Her doctor confirmed that it was an ovarian cyst that ruptured (actually she thinks there may have been 2). She, also, said that there appears to be another one forming that may rupture within the next couple of months. She's going to see Jessica again in April and do an evaluation on it. But at least Jessica is forewarned so she won't be caught quite so off-guard. Please pray that whatever is causing these cysts to form will be healed!
I am starting to feel better. I can take normal deep breaths now without coughing afterward, and the coughing is starting to ease. Still wheezing a little, but normally only after going out into cold air.
We had a pleasant surprise last night! Just before going to church for our Kid's Revival service with the Rolands, Daniel called and said that his parents were driving from Oklahoma and needed a place to spend the night. (We have several empty beds in our home, now!) So, I asked about what time they would be in, and Daniel said that they were about 6 hours away. Plenty of time to get clean sheets on a bed! We do enjoy getting to spend time with them, so it was really a fun time getting things ready. (Do I hear strains of "Anticipation"!)
As it turned out, Dave and Barb got to our house about 12:45 a.m. They were sooooo tired, they just about fell into the house. To top it off, we were having -7 temperatures, so they pretty much had to unpack the van to keep stuff from freezing. Well, we finally got them settled in for the night, and we made plans to go to Ryan's for the breakfast buffet. They told us that they were early risers and despite the lateness of getting to bed would probably be up by 7 a.m.
The Wonder Husband, like the good host that he is, set our alarm for 6:30, so that we could be awake and ready to greet our guests. It was very unneccesary!!!! They slept soooooo well, that they didn't get up until 8:45!!! I'm soooooooooo glad! I love that they felt comfortable enough to sleep that well. You know how it is--when you've been away from home for a while, it gets kind of hard to sleep. You want your own bed and your own pillow!!!!
Daniel and his three young'uns met us for breakfast. And after some initial shyness, (the kiddos only get to see Daniel's folks a few times a year) a good time was had by all!! All three kids ate very well, which was good to see, because Abby (5 yrs. old) can be a leeeetle picky by times. She ate a large pancake, and then had a helping of ice cream to finish the meal! Of course, Hunter (16 months) has never met anything that he didn't want to put in his mouth--no problems feeding him!!!! Jonathan (3 yrs. old) was having a wonderful time with plain waffles--no syrup, no butter, no jelly, no thank-you!!! All of the adults ate abundantly and were content!
Well, I'm a little tired, so since there is nothing major that needs done, I'm going to join the Wonder Husband in a nap. Have a lovely afternoon!
