This past weekend was quite interesting!
It actually started on Friday, when the Wonder Husband didn't have to work, because he had already put in his 40 hours for the week. He got up when I did, even though he didn't have to. He, also, went out into the bitter Central Ohio weather to start my car so that it would be warm when I left for work. He came and picked me up at lunch time and went to Quizno's with me for subs. (I love their subs and salads!) When I got home from work, he had finished all of the laundry--including stripping the bed and turning the mattress!!! He had, also, started cleaning on the basement. (He is a packrat!! and so this was especially wonderful of him!) He hauled out two BIG garbage bags of stuff.
Now, I don't know about most of you ladies, but I love it when the Wonder Husband gets domestic! It takes a lot of burden off of me, and it gives us time to do something fun in the evening. So, we watched "The Phantom". This is a movie based on the comic strip, and it was great!!! There were some absolutely hilarious scenes and the special effects were well done.
On Saturday, we got up, got dressed and headed to our church for a Pancake Breakfast. The FIL was supposed to meet us there, but the weather was tooooo cold for him. After the breakfast, we took my Mom's list and went to WalMart to do her shopping. THEN---we went out with our good friends the D's--to RED LOBSTER! (Yes, you do hear screaming and cheering and LOTS OF APPLAUSE in the background!) This is absolutely, hands-down, my favorite place to eat. I love, LOVE, LOVE seafood, and nobody in Ohio does seafood like Red Lobster! After I had gorged myself (figuratively) on seafood, we all decided to go to Indian Mound Mall, and try to walk off a little of the HUGE amount of calories we had consumed. We entered the mall, and as all good couples do, the boys went one way, we girls went another! Tom D and the Wonder Husband have such badly warped senses of humor, that it can be quite embarrassing to be with them in malls. (Spencer's -- need I say more???) Sue D and I found some wonderful clearance items at CJ Banks, so of course, we bought them. Then the Wonder Husband found a winter coat for me. (I've been wearing the brown denim jacket he bought me for Christmas, but it is a little COLD for that now.) We basically stayed in the mall until they started locking all of the doors. (Teenagers have nothing on us when we get out!) We got home safely, despite high winds and lots of blowing snow and serious bouts of laughter at the boys' adventures in the mall!!
Sunday started out with an early morning call from Jessica. She was having severe abdominal pain (to the point of passing out) so Rob was dropping David Riley off to us while he took her to the ER. Our local ER can sometimes be a joke--this was one of them. They did an ultrasound, thought it might be a burst cyst on her right ovary, but it might be her appendix--they couldn't see it clearly. So they sent her home with pain medicine and said if it got worse in the next 12 hours to come back, it was probably her appendix. Thank God, the pain never did get worse. It's still not good, but she has an appointment with her Gyn. on Wednesday, and she is a very thorough doctor. Hopefully, we will have some answers soon! Please pray that Jessica gets relief from the pain soon. She's trying to work with pain and she is a server/hostess at a very busy inn.
So, anyway that was my weekend. Pretty good, huh! (Except for Jessica.)
Have a wonderful day!

I've been blessed with a "wonder" husband, too, Theresa! We are truly so fortunate, hm? I thank the Lord everyday for my wonderful husband who helps me in every way, especially since I am now limited in what I can do. He's a gem. It sounds like you and Ross had just the perfect day with the D's, aside from the cold. And be assured that we are praying for Jessica. God Bless. ((HUGS))
I hoep Jessica is getting the help she needs and is on the mend soon!
You guys sound like fun to hang out with at the mall!
And I LOOOOOVE those days when the husband goes domestic - sure does take a load off. :)
