Getting Ready for the 5th!

Now, if you are Mexican or have studied Mexican History, you will know that Cinco de Mayo, is the Mexican Independence Day. However, in our family, May 5th is commonly referred to as Adoption Day. This is the anniversary of the WonderHusband adopting both of the girls. (They are mine from a previous marriage.)

Every year until now, the girls and the WonderHusband have kept this as "Their" celebration. (I would get to tag along, but only because I was the Mom. I wasn't really included!) This year, the girls decided that since they have some unofficially adopted siblings, that it should be a whole family celebration.

Next Saturday everyone will be gathering at our house for a cook-out (Lord, please let the weather cooperate??!!) I'm planning on getting lots, and lots of pictures!!! We will finally get to meet Chris's daughter, K, for the first time. I'm planning on getting all of the cousins together for a few pictures. AND I'm going to try to get all of the kids and spouses together for a picture! (I don't have a single picture with all of them.)

Here's what the line-up looks like:

Me, WonderHusband and Mom (aka Granny)
Liz, Chris, and K
Jessica, Robbie, and David Riley
Daniel, Carolyn, Abby, Jonathan, and Hunter
John and Mistie

That's 16 people! 16 PEOPLE IN MY HOUSE!!! Oh, my! Now, I'm starting to feel the stress! It's a very, Very, VERY good thing that none of them mind the clutter that my house is! BUT if the weather doesn't cooperate, and we all have to be inside, it's going to be a leeeettttllle crowded and a whole lot noisy!

Well, as plans progress, I will keep you all posted. In the meantime, please pray for a little bit of sanity and a whole lot of organization for me!

what fun! I pray you have a wonderful, blessed, stress free time! :-D
I'd send you some of my organization but I have none at all, so I'll just pray the Lord makes a way for you to do what needs to be done.
