This past week, Carolyn and kids went to upstate New York to visit her folks. When 3 grandkids disappear for a week you miss them something fierce!!! Well, Jonathan, who is 3, has been working on potty-training. (Actually, Carolyn and Daniel have been doing all the work, Jonathan hasn't been exactly interested!) This week was a break-through week for him.
When I saw Jonathan at church yesterday morning, Abby (the big sis), couldn't wait to tell me that he was wearing real underpants. (You know, Nana, not the pull-ups!) Jonathan's goal was to make it through Sunday School dry.
Immediately after Sunday School, I heard this over-excited little boy voice, yelling as he ran at me--"Nana, feel my butt! I dry!!" And he launches himself onto my lap!!! I was excited for him, but at the same time--just a little sad. Yep, he's growing up. However, I'm very happy for Daniel and Carolyn, because it seems like they've had 2 in diapers for a very long time. Also, since Hunter is so into mimicking Jonathan, maybe potty-training with him will be much easier.
