Still In Shock

I received a phone call from my daughter, Jessica, last night.  I could tell she was trying to not cry.  She had just received word that one of the men from our church had passed away and wanted to make sure I knew.

Bro. S was one of those "always there" type of people.  He was pretty quiet, but always had a firm handshake and a smile for everyone.  If there was work that needed done, you never had to look around, he was right in the middle of the hardest part. He was one of the heavy equipment operators while our church was building the new sanctuary, and he made sure that everybody followed safety procedures so that there were no injuries.

Bro. S taught his son to hunt, fish, work hard, love family, and love God, and not in that order.  He was his wife's best friend.

We don't know all of the details of the accident, but it sounds like Bro. S was killed on the job. We've heard that a cement truck rolled and struck another large truck.

Please pray for the strength and peace of this family and our church.  AND pray for our pastor and ministers to have wisdom as they deal with the fall-out from this tragedy.
