Miscellaneous

I had a wonderful day yesterday with my brother and sister-in-law!!! We had a great time at lunch and they stayed until after my husband got home from work.

Beth, my sister-in-law, and I just recently discovered that we share a fascination with buttons. So, she brought me some beautiful buttons (some to use and some to keep and look at). She, also, brought some of her collectible buttons for me to see. She has this beautiful set of crystal buttons. They all have one large crystal in the center and then several small crystals set in a channel around the edge of the buttons. They were not marked, but with the clarity of the crystals, we both suspect they may be Svarski crystals. She found them in a box at a flea market!!! She, also, has some small milk glass flower buttons and some ruby glass flower buttons. I have a set of black glass buttons that we suspect were shoe buttons, and several different sized pearl buttons. (Not the small round variety, these are flat and only polished on one side.) I, also, have some milk glass buttons of various sizes and shapes.

Bob, my brother, collects coins, so he keeps Ross and I updated on our state quarter collection. He brought Nebraska and Colorado quarters from both mints for me. I have a very special big brother!!! He was able to keep Buster, the chewing machine, quiet for almost an hour. Buster climbed up on the couch next to him, and Bob just kept holding him until he settled down and went to sleep!!!

This morning I got a wake-up call from Carolyn (my "adopted" daughter-in-law) with a plea for help. Jonathan, who is 2 1/2, woke up with a fever of 103, and she couldn't get it to come down. She made a doctor's appointment, but didn't want to take Abby, 5, and Hunter, 9 months, with her. So, Nana got up, dressed, fed Buster, ate, and got out to Carolyn's house in about 35 mins. Abby is just getting over strep throat, so she still is kind of listless. She was watching a 3-2-1 Penguins video and coloring. Hunter was doing his best to distract her and so I kept him playing until he climbed on my lap and took a nap. The doctor couldn't find anything wrong with Jonathan, so the fever is still a mystery.

I would like you all to pray for the Pullins family from our church. We received the news this morning that one of Sis. Pullins' sons, Mel, died this morning.

Well, I've got to go get some groceries and run some other errands. Have a lovely day!!!
