Whirlwind Monday

Wow, what a Monday!!!!

I got up thinking it was going to be a nice fun day, but it turned crazy pretty quick! My mom has not been feeling well for about a week and a half. I talked to one of the nurses at church on Sunday, and passed her advice on to Mom. However, Mom decided that since this person was not a doctor, she couldn't possibly know what she was talking about. Therefore, Monday morning she woke up with a huge grouch going. (After she saw our family doctor on Monday afternoon, she still doesn't know what is wrong.)

One of my nieces (Megan) from Dallas and her son, Aron, came for a short visit yesterday. It was fun to get to see them for the first time in 2 years. Aron is 11 years old, and very bored with adult company. However, he, also, didn't want to be seen having fun with a 5 year old. So, he spent the majority of the visit playing Soduko (?). Megan had a photo album with her so that we could catch up on the past two years, and she wouldn't forget anything. Her sister, Shevaughn, made the move to Dallas with her, but she wasn't able to make the trip home this time. (She said one of them had to stay home and take care of the cats.)

The honeymooners finally came to claim their dog and wedding presents. They had a wonderful time in Hawaii, and are already trying to figure out how long they have to work to be able to do another trip!! Buster was super excited to see them and therefore was chewing on them excessively. Oh, I almost forgot, in my mail delivery yesterday (before John and Mistie came over) I received a coconut that had been mailed to us. The address and postage were right on the coconut, no packaging needed!!! It was so cool. I'm trying to get past the novelty of having one mailed to me, so that I can open it and eat it. (I LOVE FRESH COCONUT!)

To top the day off, Carolyn, (one of the "adopteds") called and needed me to come and watch the kids for her. She wasn't feeling well, and needed her husband, Daniel, to take her to the ER. I'm glad I got to spend time with all three kids, but I wish it weren't under those circumstances!!! Please pray for Carolyn, she's really dealing with a lot, and could use the encouragement of knowing that others are praying for her. By the time they got home from the hospital, I had all of the kids in bed, so all they had to do was finish up the pet chores and get to bed themselves. I got in bed around 1 a.m. That was a looonnnngggggg day for me!

Today, I took Mom to the lab for blood work and then went to my friend's (Sandy) house to help her with a couple of sewing projects. She had some sleeves and a collar that just were not cooperating with her. I always have so much fun just talking with Sandy, much less doing projects with her, because we think so much alike on most things. She's just an easy person to be with. I think we're going to try to do lunch one day this week. (No projects, no kids, no grandkids, just us!!!)

Well, hope you all have a wonderful day. I'm going to try to sneak a nap before my husband gets home from work. (This means I have to go upstairs to hide so that I can have quiet!) Talk at you later!!!
